One selfie, analyzed instantly on your device, is the primary read. HUE finds your face — true face detection, not a hopeful guess at the middle of the frame — then reads it feature by feature: skin at the cheeks and forehead, hair at the crown, the color of your iris, the undertone of your lips. Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
Never. Your selfie is analyzed in your browser, on your device — it never touches a server. No accounts, no cookies, no ad trackers — only anonymous, cookieless counts of which steps get used: the step and the season name, never your photo. If the tones we measured look wrong to you, we ask — and only if you say yes do those colour values reach us, never the photo and nothing that identifies you. Why the screen. We measured it: photograph the same woman twice at one event and her undertone lands the same way 95% of the time.
